Page 2

4. Discussion Regarding Agenda for Joint Meeting of the City Council and School
Board on June 25, 2007
Topics for the meeting include communication/protocol/relationship between Boards
and Members, Measure B project update, continued discussion of the theatre as a
joint use project, a City development update focusing on housing infill, the TOD plan,
and potential housing sites. The next liaison committee meeting will be scheduled for
Thursday, May 31 st.

5. Public Comments
Darlene Evans spoke about fireworks and children.

6. Committee Member Comments
Councilmember Gregory reported on two government presentations he made to third
grade classes at Roosevelt and McKinley elementary schools. He presented flags to
each class. Councilmember Gregory also reported that he attended a meeting at
McKinley school regarding a proposed senior housing project across the street at
Estabrook and East 14th Street. Councilmember Gregory suggested that
Councilmembers be encouraged to meet with classes at schools in their district.
Members asked for an update on the Bancroft playfield contract. City Manager
Jermanis told them that the contract was approved and entered into at approximately
1.7 million dollars. Former Assistant Superintendent Glaster explained that no out-
of-pocket monies would be necessary from the City, as the contract and
reimbursement from grants and school funds would be on a draw-down basis. Vice
Mayor Grant inquired on the cost of the PG&E parking lot. PG&E is seeking another
appraisal, as all parties agree that the 1.8 million dollar original appraisal price
seemed high. Superintendent Lim also stated that the District may give naming rights
for the parking lot. Board Member Hague reiterated her support for joint use
opportunities, not only for the theatre and playfield, but for other activities.

7. Adiourn
Being no further business, Chair Santos adjourned the meeting at 4:58 p.m.
