<br />IN THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-018 RDA <br /> <br />(3059) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />AUTHORIZING AN EXCLUSIVE NEGOTIATING RIGHTS AGREEMENT (ENRA) WITH <br />MERCY HOUSING CALIFORNIA FOR PROPERTY TO BE PURCHASED BY AGENCY AT <br />2398 EAST 14TH STREET; APN 077E-1525-003-04 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agency is currently in escrow to purchase the Islander Lodge Motel <br />property at 2398 (or 13664) East 14th Street ("Agency Property") within the Joint City of San <br />Leandro/Alameda County Project Area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Agency Property is suitable for residential and mixed-use development in <br />accordance with the Joint Project Area Redevelopment Plan, the City of San Leandro's General <br />Plan, and East 14th Street South Area Development Strategy; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agency issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to find a development <br />firm for the Agency Property; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mercy Housing California's response to the RFQ was considered to be the <br />most complete in its addressing of the Agency's stated criteria; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agency and Mercy Housing California entered into a letter of agreement <br />on June 6, 2005 describing Mercy Housing California's and Agency's responsibilities and duties <br />during the escrow period prior to the Agency's taking ownership of Agency Property; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Agency staff and Mercy Housing California have negotiated an Exclusive <br />Negotiating Rights Agreement, under which Mercy Housing California would further investigate <br />site conditions and development possibilities for the Agency Property, eventually leading to a <br />Disposition and Development Agreement between the Agency and Mercy Housing California; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agency has been presented with the Exclusive Negotiating Rights <br />Agreement and is familiar with the contents thereof; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Leandro does <br />RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />That the Exclusive Negotiating Rights Agreement with Mercy Housing California is hereby <br />approved, and the Executive Director is authorized to execute it. <br />
