PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br /> <br />A. Jennifer Neira. Youth Advisorv Commissioner, addressed the City Council, <br />recommending the Summer Intern Program be reinstated. She also recommended <br />that it could be reduced to be more cost effective, if necessary. She invited the <br />City Council to attend the "Peace by Piece" Summit on May 17, 2000. <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />The City Manager addressed the Heron Bay Assessment comment and indicated he <br />will have the City Engineer put together a report regarding the issue. He indicated the <br />amount of money the City collects is related only to the maintenance of the open space <br />there. <br /> <br />In response to comments made about the Summer Intern Program, the City Manager <br />indicated that issue will be discussed during the Budget discussions. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler suggested the City Council Finance Committee review the <br />Summer Intern Program. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze commented that he would like the issue to go to the City Council <br />Finance Committee, as the Summer Intern Program has always been a worthwhile <br />program. <br /> <br />7. City and San Leandro Unified School District Liaison Committee Meeting of <br />May 2, 2000. The City Council accepted the report provided in the <br />Agenda packet. <br />
