CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Council Member Nardine asked for clarification on the Internet/E-mai1/Fax <br />machine reimbursement policy and City Council compensation. <br /> <br />The City Manager explained that previous City Council action had approved a <br />reimbursement of up to $15.00 for the telephone fax line and up to $25.00 for the <br />Internet charge. It is possible for a Council Member to choose to stay with the <br />City's Internet provider without the additional reimbursements stated. <br /> <br />B. The City Manager, in response to Council Member Nardine's comments, noted the <br />City Attorney could provide information and/or prepared documents to increase <br />the City Council's compensation by 5% should the City Council wish to do so. <br /> <br />C. Council Member Loeffler commented on the readability of the size of print of the <br />Agenda posted on Channel 15. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler commended the Community Compliance Division on the <br />removal of tires on the shoreline at Oyster Bay. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler asked about the time line and/or requirements for the <br />realignment of City Council Districts based upon the outcome of the Census 2000 <br />data. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler commended Andrew McGuire as Co-Chair of the <br />Million Mom March, indicating he is a San Leandro resident. <br /> <br />D. Council Member Lothrop complimented staff on the City's Cinco de Mayo <br />Celebration festivities; discussed her upcoming Smart Growth Summit, and asked <br />the City Manager how a discussion could be facilitated regarding a potential <br />initiative on the November ballot regarding Parks and the willingness of the <br />community to support a Park Fee Assessment or Bond issue. <br /> <br />Council discussion ensued regarding the need for such a ballot initiative and the <br />City Manager reported something will be brought to the City Council regarding a <br />proposed question to be placed on the November 2000 ballot. <br /> <br />E. Mayor Young reported on the plans of the Mayor, Council Member Galvan, and <br />City Attorney Steve Meyers' trip to Ponta Delgada. The need for a video camera <br />to capture their visit to our Sister City was expressed. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the need for the City to purchase a video camera for <br />community events, and the City Council was supportive of the purchase. <br />
