<br />4. Discussion Regarding 911 Fee Annual Report <br /> <br />Deputy Finance Director Rodriguez reported on the 911 Fee Annual Report. Based on the <br />current FY 2006-07 increases in line count, revenues were expected to exceed budget by <br />$30,729. Savings were also anticipated with expenditures of $87,230 resulting from vacancy <br />savings. Staff recommended that the City continue with its current rate of $2.06 per single <br />access line. Grant expressed her concern that the City of Union City recently lost its court battle <br />and can no longer continue collecting 911 Fees. The Committee asked for clarification on <br />whether Union City was still collecting the 911 Fee during its current appeal process. <br /> <br />5. Discussion Regarding Investment Report for the Quarter Ended March 31,2007 <br />The Finance Committee recommended forwarding the investment report to the Council for <br />approval. <br /> <br />6. Review of the City's Purchasing Policy <br />This item will be discussed at the next meeting. <br /> <br />7. Update on City's Standard and Poor's Bond Rating <br />Information was distributed for the Committee to review. <br /> <br />8. Public Comments <br />(Note: Public Comments were taken out of order and heard after discussion topic #1 on the Living Wage <br />Ordinance) <br /> <br />Sharon Cornu suggested that the City Council meet with EBASE and the Labor Council when <br />drafting the City's Living Wage Ordinance, and further recommended that specific labor <br />language be included before any Ordinance is implemented. She expressed hope that the Living <br />Wage Ordinance would include language that protects employees from retaliation with the <br />implementation of the Living Wage Ordinance. <br /> <br />Doug Jones commented that he would also like to see non-retaliation language included in the <br />City's Living Wage Ordinance. <br /> <br />Alberto Beltran commented that he would like to have confidence that his taxes are used <br />correctly. <br /> <br />Robert Arce asked that the City Council support the Living Wage Ordinance without regard to <br />the number of people who will be impacted by the Ordinance, to potentially avoid the same type <br />of situation that the City of Hayward is currently facing in litigating over a living wage <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />9.
