<br />MATTER OF RECOMMENDATION BY THE RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION <br />FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-08 COMMUNITY BENEFIT GRANT PROGRAM <br />2 May 21,2007 <br /> <br />participants to experience a wide variety of disabilities. Now in its second year, the <br />Abilities Awareness Faire will be opened to the entire community through the <br />Community Benefit grant. <br />. The Pacific Chamber Symphony which has been funded in previous years at the level of <br />$2,500 for a school based music program was not recommended for funding because the <br />agency did not attend the mandatory applicant presentation meeting. <br />. A new applicant, the Confucius Institute was not recommended for funding because the <br />grant proposal was broad and unclear. The applicant proposed a series of cultural, <br />educational and artistic events and programs. <br />. The RAPC did not recommend funding for Eden Housing Resident Services for a <br />program to offer art classes at the three Eden Housing properties located in San Leandro <br />due to limited community benefit. <br />.
