<br />3. Discussion Regarding Future Committee Meeting Dates and Times <br /> <br />The next meeting will be held as scheduled on June 12,2007 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. <br /> <br />4. Committee Member Comments: <br /> <br />Councilmember ProIa expressed his desire to hold a second community meeting at the <br />Marina Community Center to obtain community input. Councilmember Starosciak requested <br />the meeting be held by September at the latest. She shared her desire that all members of the <br />community be invited to participate. Mayor Santos agreed and encouraged the <br />councilmembers to attend homeowner association and other community meetings to get the <br />word out. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak shared that this is an important and historic decision that will <br />have a huge impact. She has met with Senator Corbett, who takes a personal interest in the <br />marina harbor, and discussed the possibility of the dredge material being used in Prop 84 or <br />IE projects as a way to reduce disposal expenses. She also shared her belief that the City <br />needs to find a way to handle the dredging ourselves and not be reliant upon Federal funding. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos shared articles from past newspapers which show that the City has been <br />dealing with the issue of dredging for many years. <br /> <br />5.
