<br />Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority <br />Special Transportation for Seniors and People with Disabilities <br /> <br /> <br />Please provide a narrative description for each service component listed in Question 6 and <br />describe any planned changes. <br /> <br />Response: <br />The FLEX Shuttle consists of three services: <br />1. Shuttle Service <br />The Shuttle service consists of a series of shuttle stops throughout the City at key locations <br />such as residential facilities, shopping, transit and community centers. Eligible walk-on <br />passengers can access the shuttle at any shuttle stop. The FLEX Shuttle is available to <br />residents who are 60 years or older or East Bay Paratransit Certified Adults. <br />2. Curb-to-Curb Service (CTC) <br />The Curb-to-Curb service allows residents who qualify to call and make a reservation for the <br />shuttle to pick them up and drop them off at a specific location within San Leandro. This <br />service is by appointment only. The Curb-to-Curb service is available to residents who are <br />75 years or older or East Bay Paratransit Certified Adults. <br />3. Out of Town Medical Trips (OTMT) <br />Medical trips provided within Alameda County to residents who are <br />75 years or older or East Bay Paratransit Certified Adults. <br />Fare - None for Shuttle and Curb to Curb service, $2.00110 miles for Out of Town Medical <br />Trips. <br />Hours of Operation - Monday - Friday, Shuttle 9:00 AM - 5 :00 PM, Curb-to-Curb & OTMT <br />8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. <br />Eligibility - Adults 18 and above with disabilities for Shuttle and Curb-to Curb service, <br />Seniors 60+ for Shuttle Service, Seniors 75+ for Curb-to-Curb Service & OTMT <br />Reservations - Walk-on passengers on the Shuttle Service. Advance reservation required for <br />Curb-to-Curb Service. <br />Travel Area - City of San Leandro, withint Alameda County for OTMT <br />Wheelchair Accessibility - Wheelchair Accessible Shuttle Buses <br /> <br />Group Trips - Senior Day Trips and Out and About Program <br />Day trips to cultural, social and recreational locations offered through the City's Senior <br />Services Program and to Community Based Organizations serving seniors and adults with <br />disabilities <br />Fare - Transportation is free to participant <br />Hours of Operation - Monday thru Sunday, day and evening <br />Eligibility - ADA eligible adults and Seniors <br />Reservations: Require advance registration <br />Travel Area - Bay Area <br />Wheelchair Accessbility - Yes <br /> <br />Proposed Service Changes: In FY 2007-08 we will investigate the feasibility of adding a <br />shuttle stop at or near Bancroft and Dutton Avenue.
