Objectives - Program Outputs and Outcomes <br />Please submit no more than two Objectives. In many cases, only one Objective may be sufficient. Program Premise (if..., then...): <br />If individuals with low literacy skills (8th grade or below) participate in an adult literacy program, then the probability <br />will increase that the individual will gain literacy skills and apply those skills in situations of family, job, education, social or <br />community life and personal development, thus increasing their independence and self-sufficiency. <br /> <br />b. Program Activities: (Describe the services provided) <br />One on one tutoring, small group sessions, Computer Lab, Families for Literacy; affordable: free; accessible: <br />convenience-based schedule/location; client customized: learner-centered curriculum. <br /> <br />c. Program Outputs: (The direct products of program activities, such as the number of meals provided or participants served. <br />Program outputs should be measurable and quantifiable). <br /> <br />BY JUNE 30, 2007 (12 MONTHS) <br />150 students served (annual minimum of 19,000 volunteer tutor service hours) <br /> <br />BY JUNE 30, 2008 (24 MONTHS) <br />300 students served (two-year cumulative; minimum of 33,000 volunteer tutor service hours) <br /> <br />d. Who benefits.. .what will change. ..by when.. .how will you know.) <br /> <br />BY JUNE 30, 2007 (12 MONTHS): <br />Sixty percent of students with low literacy skills, who maintain their tutor and consistent attendance, will increase their independence <br />and self-sufficiency as indicated by their demonstration of new applications of literacy skills within the context of work, family, <br />community, or personal life. <br /> <br />BY JUNE 30, 2008 (24 MONTHS): <br />Seventy five percent of students who enter the adult literacy program in the year 2006-2008 and who maintain their tutor and consistent <br />attendance will increase their independence and sufficiency indicated by their demonstration of new applications Or literacy skills within <br />the context of work, family, community, and personal life. <br /> <br />e.
