<br />ACTIA Bay Trail Bridge Agreement <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />July 2, 2007 <br /> <br />construction of a bridge across the slough north of Oyster Bay Regional Park and the trail <br />connecting this bridge with the existing San Francisco Bay Trail constructed within the City of <br />Oakland. In 2005, Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. completed the design of the Bay Trail Bridge <br />and connecting trail. <br /> <br />Analysis <br /> <br />Completion of this segment will provide a vital link in the Bay Trail between Berkeley and <br />Hayward. The design phase of this project is substantially complete. A grant from <br />Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (TEA-LU) Reauthorization ($528,000) is <br />secured, an additional grant in the amount of $750,000 from the Metropolitan Transportation <br />Commission Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Program (RBPP) is pending, and other funding <br />opportunities are being pursued. This grant agreement with ACTIA will provide partial funding <br />for construction of the project. <br /> <br />Current City Council Policy <br /> <br />. Work jointly with the East Bay Regional Park District to pursue funding and completion of <br />the Bay Trail project <br /> <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br /> <br />. On February 4, 2004 by Resolution No. 2004-021, the City Council approved a grant <br />agreement with the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) to provide design <br />services for the subject project <br />. On June 7, 2004 by Resolution No. 2004-085, the City Council approved a grant agreement <br />with ACTIA to provide construction services for the subject project <br />. On July 19, 2004 by Resolution No. 2004-119, the City Council approved a contractual <br />services agreement with Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. to provide design services for the <br />subject project <br />. On March 19,2007 by Resolution No. 2007-036, the City Council approved a Right-of-Entry <br />and Indemnity Agreement between the City of San Leandro and the Port of Oakland related <br />to the subject project <br />. On May 7, 2007 by Resolution No. 2007-064 the City Council authorized the City Manager <br />to file an application for a Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) Regional <br />Bicycle and Pedestrian program grant for $750,000 to help fund the subject project <br /> <br />City Council Committee Review and Action <br /> <br />Not Applicable <br /> <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br /> <br />.
