Kathleen said that a letter is being prepared for the Mayor's signature. Committee
Member Gregory asked if the recommendation for Alternatives 2 and 4 are also the
solution. Kathleen stated that staff is in support of the two alternatives and cannot
support the others. She stated that staff would like to defer to the AC Transit board to
choose between Alternative 2 and Alternative 4.

Keith and Kathleen both stated that adding to BRT is fairly easy to do. If residential
areas or community desires change, it is easy to make additions. John Jermanis stated
that the project will be presented to Council on July 2nd for a motion to have the Mayor
send a letter to AC Transit regarding EIR stating that the City prefers Alternative 2 and 4
and will support either one. Staff wants to get the authorization from the Mayor to send
the letter. Kathleen stated that the same presentation is going to the Planning
Commission tomorrow night and staff will get feedback from the Commission and bring
it to Council. She stated that at this point the funding is not in place for the entire project;
however, the EIR process allows comments to be presented within the comment period,
which ends on July 3rd. However, comments can still be presented until the Council vote
which is in September.

John Jermanis suggested that staff continues working with AC Transit and offers to help
facilitate their meetings regarding the subject when needed.

3.
