<br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007-088 <br /> <br />(2368/3086) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROCUREMENT OF CHEMICALS TO TREAT THE <br />SHORELINE INVASIVE SPARTINA WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING BY MEANS OF <br />PIGGYBACKING ON EAST BAY REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT'S APPROVED SOLE- <br />SOURCE PURCHASE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the use of cooperative purchasing by piggybacking on East Bay Regional Park <br />District's (EBRPD) sole-source purchase of chemicals to treat Spartina Alterniflora found in the <br />City's marshlands is in the best interest of the City. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended approval of said cooperative purchasing <br />arrangement. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1. That competitive bidding is hereby waived as provided in San Leandro Municipal Code <br />Section 1-6-305, and said arrangement is hereby approved; <br /> <br />2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute documents relating to said arrangement; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />3. That an appropriation from the Heron Bay Fund be made in the amount of$100,000. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Starosciak and passed and adopted this 2nd day of July, 2007 <br />by the following called vote: <br /> <br />Members of the Council: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Grant, Gregory, ProIa, Souza, Starosciak; Mayor Santos (6) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Stephens (1) <br /> <br />ATTEST: Yvt~~ <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
