<br />E. The City may terminate a Sister City or Friendship City affiliation if, after considering such <br />factors as community involvement, length of no contact or visits, funding, etc., it determines <br />that continuation of the affiliation is not in the best interest of the City. <br /> <br />VI. City Official Visits to Sister Cities and Friendship Cities <br /> <br />When a City Councilmember initiates a request to visit a Sister City or Friendship City, such <br />request will be made in writing to the City Council, including the proposed itinerary, how the <br />travel and expenses will be funded, and other assistance the City will be asked to provide (i.e. <br />gifts to be presented by the Councilmember). The Human Relations Committee will make a <br />recommendation to the City Council, including a recommended budget for the visit. The Mayor <br />will send appropriate correspondence to the Mayor of the Sister City or Friendship City. <br /> <br />When an invitation is received from a Sister City or Friendship City for San Leandro officials to <br />visit that city, the City Council shall review the invitation or request, including what expenses, if <br />any, have been offered by the Sister City. The City Council will then consider recommendations <br />from the City Council Human Relations Committee regarding who will represent the City and <br />how the travel and expenses shall be funded. <br /> <br />VI. Gifts <br /> <br />Gifts or memorabilia presented to a representative of the City of San Leandro which are intended <br />for the City shall become the property of the City. All gifts received by individual City <br />Councilmembers are subject to applicable Fair Political Practices Commission and Government <br />Code reporting requirements. <br />
