<br />CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />APPROVED AND <br />FORWARDED <br />TO CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />July 16, 2007 <br /> <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />John Jermanis, City Manager <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br /> <br />Uchenna Udemezue, Director <br />Engineering and Transportatio <br /> <br />BY: Kenneth Joseph, City Engineer 11/ <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIP{ION: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE SAN LEANDRO HILLSIDE GEOLOGIC HAZARD ABATEMENT <br />DISTRICT APPROVING THE ANNUAL REPORT OF THE SAN LEANDRO HILLSIDE <br />GEOLOGIC HAZARD ABATEMENT DISTRICT (GHAD) FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006-07 <br /> <br />Provides an update on the activities of the GHAD for Fiscal Year 2006-07. <br /> <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of the annual report of the GHAD for Fiscal Year 2006-07. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Following the hillside slide of 1998, the City Council, by Resolution No. 2000-172, approved the <br />formation of the GHAD and appointed itself to act as the Board of Directors. <br /> <br />Analysis <br /> <br />There has been limited activity this fiscal year on GHAD-related issues, except for minor <br />maintenance work by Public Works staff. Recent site investigation by staff did not indicate any <br />sign of movement of the slope. <br /> <br />Current City Council Policy <br /> <br />. Establish GHAD as a vehicle to implement repair of Hillside Drive landslide <br />. GHAD is limited to twenty-six (26) properties, to collect and expend funds for landslide <br />repair and maintenance <br />. GHAD's existence and activities are tied to its available funding <br />. GHAD will have no responsibility to perform activities beyond its funding capacity <br /> <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br /> <br />.
