This letter was not considered in the preparation of this staff report, resolutions or ordinances attached hereto. Summary of Public Outreach Efforts EIR . In accordance with CEQA, the City of San Leandro conducted a public scoping session to allow agencies and individuals an opportunity to state what should be included in the environmental evaluation. A legal notice for the public scoping meeting was placed in the Daily Review advertising the Planning Commission hearing of May 25, 2006 at which time a scoping meeting was held at San Leandro City Hall. . A Notice of Preparation was prepared and distributed by the City to responsible agencies and interested citizens on May 15 and ending on June 14, 2006. On June 5, 2007, the Draft EIR was submitted to the State Clearinghouse for distribution to responsible agencies, and notification of its availability was made to all interested parties. . The 45-day public review period for the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) began on June 5, 2007 and ended July 19, 2007. During this timeframe, the document was distributed to and reviewed by various state, regional, and local agencies, as well as by interested organizations and individuals. Comments related to the DEIR were directed to be made to the City, and oral and written testimony was also received at the Planning Commission meeting held on July 12, 2007 on the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Downtown Transit-Oriented Development (TaD) Strategy. A total of eleven (11) comment letters were received on the Draft EIR. Of these, six (6) were from public agencies, one (1) was from an organization and four (4) were from individuals. Copies of the DEIR were also made available to the public on the City of San Leandro website at: http://www.ci.san-leandro.ca.us/CDTODOview.asphttp://www and at the San Leandro Main Library. TO D Strategy . Three very successful Community Meetings were held during the I5-month period from January 2006 through May 2007. Meetings were held in June and September of 2006 and March of 2007 with an overall attendance of 240 area residents. Representatives from AC Transit, BART, MTC and ABAG attended the Community Meetings during the Open House portion of the meeting to provide information to the public. Spanish
