Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />Accepted as <br />1. Shoreline-Marina Committee Meeting of September 11, 2007. <br />submitted. <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Santos reported that the Shoreline-Marina Committee discussed the <br />Request for Qualifications for a developer, and a final draft will need to be <br />approved by the full Council. Mayor Santos requested consensus of the Council <br />to place the matter of the approval of the Request for Qualifications for a Master <br />Developer on the next regular City Council meeting agenda. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak asked for clarification on the process for approving the <br />RFQ. She recalled that the Committee agreed to bring the draft RFQ to the full <br />Council for review, then back to the Committee for finalization and <br />recommendation. Councilmember Starosciak stated that she would like the <br />Committee to make a recommendation to the Council on the final RFQ. <br /> <br />Mr. Jermanis suggested that the item could be placed on the City Council agenda <br />for October 1, then go back to the Shoreline-Marina Committee on October 9 for <br />review and recommendation to the full City Council at its meeting on October 15. <br /> <br /> <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory commented on a meeting he attended with the Mayor and City <br />Manager on TOD which was hosted by AC Transit. Councilmember Gregory commented on <br />the kickoff meeting for Shape Up San Leandro. He thanked Recreation and Human Services <br />Director Carolyn Knudtson for her excellent facilitation of the meeting, and School <br />Superintendent Christine Lim for sending several staff members to participate in the meeting. <br />Kaiser Permanente, the City, the Chamber of Commerce, and Supervisor Lai- <br />were represented, and the group will be expanded to include some faith-based groups and <br />non-profit organizations. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant pointed out the repeated comments about Burrell Field. She suggested that <br />City staff research what is feasible and discuss the options with the interested community <br />members. Vice Mayor Grant commented that the Council will be assembling a team for the <br />Trivia Bee. She indicated that she and Councilmember Souza would be available, and asked <br />who might be interested in being the third member. Vice Mayor Grant commented that she <br />spoke at Firefighter on behalf of Mayor Santos. She announced <br />that she will be holding a town hall meeting on Wednesday at Jefferson School, and invited <br />the Council to attend. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza commented that Luster Knight was one of her Leadership San <br />Leandro classmates, and she wished him the best in his retirement. Councilmember Souza <br />expressed concern at the potential danger for pedestrians in crossing the overpass at Marina <br />Boulevard, and asked if there is anything that can be done to improve the safety of that <br />crossing. She suggested contacting the Oakland Raiders about assistance with the Burrell <br /> <br />
