1N THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION N0.2007-129 (1172) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A PIERCE FIRE APPARATUS TILLER <br />LADDER TRUCK FROM A SOLE SOURCE VENDOR WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING <br />BY PIGGYBACKING ON ALAMEDA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT'S PURCHASE AND <br />THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS <br />WHEREAS, Section 1-6-305 of the San Leandro Municipal Code allows the City to procure <br />equipment without bidding by means of cooperative purchases with other governmental agencies; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 1-6-315 of the San Leandro Municipa] Code allows purchases of <br />equipment, materials or supplies to be made without competitive bidding if determined by the Council <br />to be necessary to serve the best interests of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, through a cooperative purchase with the Alameda County Fire Department of a <br />Pierce fire apparatus quantum pumper truck, the City can realize significant time and cost savings. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That purchase of a new Pierce fire apparatus without competitive bidding by piggybacking on <br />the terms and conditions of a purchase made by the Alameda County Fire Deparhnent is hereby <br />authorized. <br />That the appropriation of $24,298 from the Fire Equipment Replacement Reserves (account <br />number 010-23-002-7510) is hereby authorized. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Grant and passed and adopted this 1st day of October, 2007, by <br />the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Grant, Gregory, Prola, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Santos ~~) <br />NOES: None ~~~ <br />ABSENT: None ~~~ <br />ATTEST: ~~a <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
