Approves Schematic Design for the <br />At last night's Board <br />meeting, the $oard of <br />Education approved the the <br />Schematic Design including <br />site plan, floor plans and <br />elevations for the new Ninth <br />Grade Campus. <br />The Superintendent <br />and the Board commended <br />SLHS Principal Amy <br />Furtado, the Measure B <br />Steering Committee, staff <br />and architects for their <br />outstanding work <br />accomplished in a short <br />amount of time, and the <br />inclusive community process <br />that resulted in the final <br />design. <br /> <br />.:.'A'.6lf W. IAA ?'-(":':r1.i TIflL <br />r <br />~ MASFER KLAN ~~ <br />On July 11, 2007, the 9TH GRADE CAMPUS - SLUS© :z--- "" -~-~;t <br />Board approved the Measure <br />B Master Schedule, which <br />included the compressed design schedule for <br />the Ninth Grade Campus. The compressed <br />design schedule allows a timely submittal of <br />plans to the Department of State Architect <br />(DSA) and Office of Public School Construction <br />(OPSC) which is a requirement to meet grant <br />deadlines for multiple new construction grants <br />totaling approximately $11.45 million. <br />During her presentation, Principal <br />Furtado shared critical milestones during the <br />Measure B design process, which included: <br />July 23, 2007 -Leader's Summit comprised of <br />representatives of the 9th Grade Campus <br />Conceptual Design Team, San Leandro <br />Teachers' Association (SETA), and the California <br />School Employees Association (CSEA). This <br />important meeting <br />bridged the work of <br />the Conceptual <br />Design Teams and <br />the SLHS staff in <br />order to strategize the <br />design process and <br />integrate it with the <br />Steering Committee <br />and Board meeting <br />schedules. Two <br />preliminary sketches <br />were presented by <br />the architects for <br />input, as well as an <br />~~ <br />~ of Education <br />Grade Campus <br />f~~~ ~~r~,.~r <br />
