IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2007-024 (1076) <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE 2 AND RE-ENACTING ARTICLE 2 TO <br />CHAPTER 5 OF TITLE VII OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING <br />BY REFERENCE THE DANGEROUS BUILDING CODE, AS AMENDED <br />DANGEROUS BUILDING CODE <br />The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: <br />Section L Article 2 of Title VII, Chapter 5, of the San Leandro Municipal Code is <br />hereby repealed. <br />Section 2. Article 2 is hereby re-enacted to Title VII, Chapter, 5 of the San Leandro <br />Municipal Code to read as follows: <br />"ARTICLE 2. DANGEROUS BUILDING CODE <br />Section 7-5-200: TITLE. These regulations shall be known as the "Code for the Abatement of <br />Dangerous Buildings", and maybe cited as such, and will be referred to herein as "this Code". <br />Section 7-5-205: PURPOSE AND SCOPE. <br />(a) Purpose. It is the purpose of this Code to provide a just, equitable, and practicable <br />method, to be cumulative with and in addition to, any other remedy provided by the <br />Building Code, Housing Code, or otherwise available at law, whereby buildings, <br />structures or premises which from any cause endanger the life, limb, health, morals, <br />property, safety or welfare of the general public or their occupants maybe required to <br />be repaired, vacated, or demolished. <br />The purpose of this Code is not to create or otherwise establish or designate <br />any particular class or group of persons who will or should be especially <br />protected or benefited by the terms of this Code. <br />(b) Scope. The provisions of this Code shall apply to all dangerous buildings, as herein <br />defined, which are now in existence or which may hereafter become dangerous in <br />this jurisdiction. <br />Section 7-5-210: ALTERATIONS, ADDITIONS AND REPAIRS. All buildings, structures or <br />premises which are required to be repaired under the provisions of this Code shall be subject to the <br />provisions of Section 3403 of the Building Code, as adopted and amended in the San Leandro <br />Municipal Code. <br />
