Accept Bancroft Playfields 2 November 5, 2007 <br />• Anew storm drainage system with manhole connection to the City of San Leandro's (City) <br />storm line on Bancroft Avenue <br />A synthetic playfield turf was installed directly by the manufacturer in coordination with the <br />construction contractor. The City used a California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) listing to <br />purchase "Fieldturf' brand synthetic turf directly from the manufacturer. <br />As agreed in both the MOU and a subsequent agreement, the SLUSD funded the design and <br />construction of the improvements through proceeds from the grant and other SLUSD funds, <br />while the City covered its staff costs for project management and inspection services. The City <br />is in the process of billing the SLUSD for reimbursement of its construction and design costs. <br />Current City Council Policy <br />Not Applicable <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />• On April 28, 2004 at the Joint City Council and SLUSD Board of Trustees meeting, the City <br />Council directed staff to work with the SLUSD to determine if the BMS field was a potential <br />joint use project <br />• At the September 28, 2004 Joint City Council and SLUSD Board of Trustees meeting, staff <br />was directed to continue to work with the SLUSD to jointly submit a grant application <br />• On November 1, 2004 by Resolution No. 2004-163, the City Council approved an MOU with <br />the SLUSD <br />• On June 19, 2006 by Resolution No. 2006-069, the City Council approved an agreement with <br />the SLUSD to renovate the BMS field and play area <br />• On November 20, 2006, by Resolution 2006-126, the City Council approved a contractual <br />services agreement with Harris Design for the preparation of construction documents <br />• On March 19, 2007 by Resolution No. 2007-037, the City Council approved the plans and <br />specifications and call for bids <br />• On April 16, 2007 by Resolution No. 2007-054, the City Council awarded a construction <br />contract to American Civil Constructors, Inc. <br />City Council Committee Review and Action <br />Not Applicable <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />• Goa121--Maintain and improve San Leandro's existing parks and recreational facilities <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />• Obtained a permit from the California Department of the State Architect <br />
