Section 7-5-215: ENFORCEMENT. <br />(a) Administration. The building official is hereby authorized to enforce the provisions <br />of this Code. The building official shall have the power to render interpretations of <br />this Code and to adopt and enforce rules and supplemental regulations in order to <br />clarify the application of the provisions of this Code. Such interpretations, rules, and <br />regulations shall be in conformity with the intent and purpose of this Code. <br />(b) Inspections. The building official is hereby authorized to make such inspections and <br />take such actions as maybe required to enforce the provisions of this Code. <br />(c) Right of Entrv. The building official or his/her authorized representative shall have <br />a right of entry as specified in Section 7-5-1105 of the San Leandro Municipal Code. <br />Section 7-5-220: ABATEMENT_OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS STRUCTURES OR <br />PREMISES. All buildings, structures, premises or portions thereof which are determined after <br />inspection by the building official to be dangerous as defined in this Code are hereby declared to be <br />public nuisances and shall be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal in accordance <br />with the procedure specified in Section 7-5-1120 of the San Leandro Municipal Code. <br />Section 7-5-225: VIOLATIONS. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to <br />erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, <br />occupy, or maintain any building, structure or premises or cause or permit the same to be done in <br />violation of Article 2, Chapter 5, of Title VII of the San Leandro Municipal Code. <br />Section 7-5-230: INSPECTION OF WORK. All buildings, structures or premises within the <br />scope of this Article and all construction or work for which a permit is required shall be subject to <br />inspection by the building official in accordance with and in the manner provided by this Article and <br />Sections 108 and 1701 of the Building Code, as adopted and amended in the San Leandro Municipal <br />Code. <br />Section 7-5-235: BOARD OF APPEALS. The Board of Appeals created under <br />Section 7-5-110 of the San Leandro Municipal Code shall hear and decide appeals of orders, <br />decisions or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and <br />interpretation of this Article. The Board shall function as described in said Section of the San <br />Leandro Municipal Code. <br />Section 7-5-240: DEFINITIONS. <br />(a} For the purpose of this Code, certain terms, phrases, words, and their derivatives <br />shall be construed as specified in either this chapter or as specified in the Building <br />Code (Title VII, Chapter 5, Article 1) or the Housing Code (Title VII, Chapter 5, <br />Article 3). Where terms are not defined, they shall have their ordinary accepted <br />meanings within the context with which they are used. Webster's Third New <br />International Dictionary of the English Language, Unabridged, copyright 2002, shall <br />be construed as providing ordinary accepted meanings.
