R~;~ i~,~~ (i j Novennher 2~ 2i)7 <br />• Development of a preliminary design for an approximately 500 space Estudillo-Callan <br />parkin, garage. <br />• Development of 1040 Davis Street into a professional office complex, and construction <br />of nine quality townhomes on the formerly vacant lot at 1103 Davis Street. <br />Resurrection of the Agency's Commercial Rehabilitation Program to encourage <br />cointnercial facade improvements. <br />• Development of a downtown retail strategy to brand and market the downtown. <br />• Completion of the East ] 4r'' Street portion of the Downtown Lighting and Pedestrian <br />Improvements and the Davis and East l4`h Street Lighting and Pedestrian Improvements. <br />Joint Project Area Summary <br />• Adoption of a Transit Oriented Development Strategy which encourages public transit <br />use and improves the pedestrian environment of the downtown. <br />• Development of a preliminary design for an approximately 500 space Eshldillo-Callan <br />parking garage. <br />• Private development of Palma, Plaza and redevelopment of the blighted Islander Motel to <br />Casa Verde, an affordable housing project, both consistent with the East 14r~' Street Soutli <br />Area Plan. <br />• Land assembly of 268 Parrott Street and 1595 Washington Avenue for the development <br />of a mired use project. <br />• Continued development of Marina Boulevard Auto Row, including a McKevitt Volvo <br />dealership, which opened in 2004, and Suzuki and Mitsubishi dealerships, scheduled to <br />open in 2008. <br />• Resurrection of the Agency's Commercial Rehabilitation Program to encourage <br />commercial facade improvements. <br />• Development of a downtown retail strategy to brand and market the downtown. <br />• Exterior and interior improvements to Bayfair Center. <br />Design and planning for development of a Sei>ior Center on East 14`h Street. <br />• Plans to underground utility lines on East 14t~' Street south from 136x" Avenue to the city <br />border. <br />• Improvements to the streetscape and medians on East 14"` Street south atom 136"' <br />Avenue to the city border. <br />• Improved pedestrian connections and parking facilities at, between and around Bayfair <br />Center and Bayfair BART. <br />WSL/MacArthur Project Area Summary <br />• Redevelopment and re-tenanting of 2040 Williams (former Kellogg's facility), 1717 <br />Doolittle (former Scott Mechanical Building), and 1251 Doolittle (former Prescolite <br />building). <br />• Attraction of new commercial and industrial users including: Triple C Foods, Inc., <br />Cleaire, The Annex, East Bay Produce, Jamba Juice and Starbuck"s. <br />• Continued support of the LINKS shuttle service, which now serves over 200,000 riders <br />annually. <br />Resurrection of the Agency's Commercial Rehabilitation Program to encourage <br />commercial facade improvements. <br />
