MINUTES Page 2 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-February 4, 2008 <br />REGULAR MEETING 7:00 PM-City Council Chambers <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:06 p.m. <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />Barry Luboviski from the Building & Construction Trades Council led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Members Grant, Gregory, Prola, Souza, Starosciak (arrived at 7:34 <br />p.m.), Stephens; Mayor Santos <br />ABSENT: None <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br />A. Youth Advisory Commission Update. <br />Ben Gregori, Chair, and Tina Kuang, Vice Chair, of the Youth Advisory Commission, <br />reported to the City Council on the Commission's recent activities. The YAC recently <br />awarded Youth Mini-Grants to various organizations and is planning its annual Youth <br />Summit for Monday, February 25 at the Marina Community Center. The topic will be, <br />"Through Your Eyes: Perspectives on Youth Relationships," and will address parent to <br />child, peer to peer, and police to truant relationships. <br />B. Presentation by American Red Cross to City of San Leandro, 2007 Red Cross Cup, First <br />Place, Best Blood Drive in Alameda County. <br />Councilmember Gregory, who also represents American Red Cross Blood Services, <br />presented Mayor Santos with the 2007 Mayors Cup. The Cup is awarded each year to <br />the city that holds the best blood drive in Alameda County between June 15 and <br />September 30, 2007. <br />Mayor Santos announced that he contributed $350 from his Community Empowerment <br />Funds to the San Leandro Boys and Girls Club. <br />With concurrence of the City Council, Item 10.A. was moved out of order to accommodate <br />the large number of audience members in attendance for this item. <br />
