Promote the long-term <br />conservation of San Leandro's remaining natural ecosystems, including wetlands, grasslands, <br />and riparian areas. Future development should minimize the potential for adverse impacts to <br />these ecosystems and should promote their restoration and enhancement. <br />General Plan, Chapter 5, Goal 26.03: Habitat Restoration. Encourage the restoration of native <br />vegetation in the City's open spaces as a means of enhancing habitat and reducing wildfire <br />hazards. <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />Not applicable <br />Environmental Review <br />This project is Categorically Exempt per CEQA Guidelines Sections 15304 and 15307. This <br />project involves minor alterations to land (by way of re-introduction of the California Sea-blite) <br />which results in improvement of existing habitat, and involves action by a Regulatory Agency <br />(USFWS) for protection of natural resources, by restoring and enhancing natural resources. <br />USFWS staff has indicated that this plant does not typically serve as habitat for <br />endangered listed animal species, including the California Clapper Rail and Salt Marsh Harvest <br />Mouse, known to exist in the Robert's Landing area. <br />Code Compliance Review <br />Not applicable <br />
