2/28/08 Highlights City and San Lorenzo Unified School District Liaison Committee Page 3 <br />Jim Sherwood -suggested that the district use the HOA's to distribute school related <br />information, as well as about the bond. <br />Marty Lantz, Washington Manor HOA President -stated that their association is <br />coming back and wants to involve the community in events such as National Night <br />Out. <br />5. Committee Member Comments <br />Board Member Polvorosa commented that it is a pleasure working with the City. <br />Council member Souza suggested that an upcoming issue of the City Newsletter have <br />an article about the SLzUSD academy programs. Ms. Souza also suggested that the <br />schools and National Night Out are linked in some way. She asked if any 211 <br />outreach information available for schools; she would like it brought back to the next <br />committee meeting. <br />Council Member Starosciak commented that she thought the information was great; <br />she also mentioned that another district representative will be needed to replace <br />Barbara Sidari. <br />Council Member Prola stated that he likes the direction the schools are going with <br />the academies. <br />City Manager Jermanis said he would work on the representative issue and would <br />like more dialogue to engage people. He said he likes working on the issues in <br />collaboration and working towards facilities and joint use. <br />b. Adjourn <br />The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 p.m. <br />
