The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest <br />listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Wafaa Aborashed, San Leandro resident, <br /> addressed the City Council, expressing concern <br />, and its <br />potential impacts on traffic, the Timothy Drive and Davis West neighborhoods, and small <br />independent businesses. Ms. Aborashed asked whether the statistics could be provided on the <br />number of fights that have occurred in the Westgate parking lot area, and she commented that <br />the only way to halt the permit was if the Police Chief filed a form with the Department of <br />Alcoholic Beverage Control. <br /> <br />Burpinder Singh Grewal, Marina Wine and Spirits <br />, addressed the City Council with the <br />assistance of Ms. Aborashed, commenting that his business is family- <br />permit would impact their livelihood. <br /> <br />Benny Lee, Asian Community Cultural Association, <br /> addressed the City Council, <br />commenting on the tour and luncheon hosted three weeks ago by the City for city officials and <br />business leaders from Yangchun, China. Mr. Lee commented that the visit left an endearing, <br />positive impression on the Yangchun delegation. On behalf of the Asian Community Cultural <br />Association, Mr. Lee presented a gift of a framed picture to the City, which was identical to <br />the gift presented to the Mayor of Yangchun during the visit, and asked that it be placed in the <br />Sister Cities Gallery. Mr. Lee commented that the gift symbolized the spirit of friendship and <br />cooperation between Yangchun and San Leandro. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, <br />addressed the City Council, commenting on doing <br />business at Costco and WalMart, and expressing concern that he would not have adequate <br />time to address his concerns on several Consent Calendar items. <br /> <br /> <br /> 6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Jermanis noted that the <br />at a previous Council meeting.
