PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br />When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the <br />City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br />addresses obtained. The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT <br />listed on the Agenda. <br />Shirley Rocha, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing concern <br />regarding Wal-Mart's application for a license to sell liquor at its West Gate store. Ms. Rocha <br />pointed out that the nearby Costco also sells liquor, and that the sales of liquor at Wal-Mart <br />would bring more trouble to an already problem-ridden area. Ms. Rocha urged the Council to <br />consider retaining the Marina harbor, particularly for the purpose of water rescue in the event <br />of a downed aircraft in the water near the airport. <br />Audrey Lee, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that she lives <br />in the MacArthur/Superior neighborhood, and was told at the time she moved in that this area <br />was part of the last phase of City redevelopment. Ms. Lee expressed concern regarding traffic <br />in her area, and she asked if there will be future development and road improvements made in <br />the area. <br />Alberto Colon Aponte, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing <br />concern regarding a property in his Bristol Boulevard neighborhood that is laden with garbage <br />and is attracting vermin. Mr. Aponte commented that he and his neighbors have been <br />requesting assistance with this problem from the City for the past five months, without <br />success. Mr. Aponte requested the Council's assistance in cleaning up the property and <br />addressing gang activity in his neighborhood. <br />
