Adopting a goal of 75% <br />reduction by 2010 conforms to the City's General Plan and the Alameda County Integrated <br />Waste Management Plan. It will also ensure that the City receives annual block grant funding <br />from the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and Recycling Board <br />("Stopwaste.org"). With the continued grant funding, the City can maximize the efficiency of <br />existing recycling programs and create new and effective recycling approaches. <br />
