ORGANIZATION TYPE Grant <br />2005-06 Grant <br />2006-07 Crant <br />2007-08 REQUEST <br />2008-09 RECOMM. <br />2008-09 <br />San Leandro High School Musical Theater <br />Program Statement: SLHS Musical Theatre is a group of parents, students, staff Community $3 <br />000 $3 <br />500 $3,500 $3,500 $3,500 <br />and volunteers who are dedicated to maintaining the tradition of quality musical , , <br />theatre productions at our large and diverse high school. We are currently Events <br />producing our 9`~ consecutive show. We reach nearly 1,500 local theatre <br />enthusiasts each year. Our student actors entertain community members, young <br />and old, with Broadway-style productions that include a live orchestra. Our cast, Cultural <br />crew, and audience reflect the beautiful diversity of San Leandro. Our goal each Arts <br />year is to involve student actors, singers and musicians in every aspect of theatre <br />production and to continue to reach out to our community in a positive way. <br /> Special <br />FY2007-08 Funding Note: Due to Zimited funding, the Commission recommends Programs <br />funding at prior year level. Commission challenges all grantees to fund raise to <br />offset/leverage City grant funds. <br />FY 2008-09 Funding Note: Commission is pleased to recommend funding for this <br />valuable community based program. The Commission commends the <br />organization for having a variety of funding sources. However, all applicants are <br />encouraged to seek other funding sources and grant opportunities to expand <br />funding resource. <br />
