CITY CELL PHONE USE POLICY <br />- The City's hands-free use of cell phones will be covered under Assignment and Use of City and <br />personal vehicles (Personnel Procedure PP-1930) <br />- The City discourages the use of cell phones while operating a vehicle <br />- Texting or emailing is strictly prohibited when operating a vehicle <br />- Anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited from using a City cell phone while operating a vehicle <br />- Emergency services professionals (Police Department) are exempt from the main City Cell Phone Use <br />Policy, however, must follow Police Operations Directive <br />- Only emergency phone calls to a law enforcement agency, health care provider, fire department or <br />other emergency services agency or entity can be made while operating a vehicle without a hands- <br />free listening device <br />- Individuals with Department Head recommendation and City Manager approval will given a hands- <br />free listening device <br />- Personal hands-free devices wi11 not be allowed to be connected to City cell phones (except City <br />Council) <br />- The use of hands-free listening devices while operating a vehicle are for receiving in-coming calls only <br />- While operating a vehicle, you must pull over to make a call when and where it is safe <br />- Personal cell phone use while operating a City vehicle is prohibited <br />- Any person using a City cell phone must sign the Cell Phone User Agreement or the cell phone will be <br />returned to the City <br />+^ a:, <br />~~ ~ <br />
