Most schools have two <br />assemblies. The PCS quintet consists of violin, cello, trumpet, clarinet and <br />flute. Each year a different fun theme is utilized to introduce musical concepts. <br />Last year it was "Postcards From Around the World" to introduce different <br />musical scales. This year it is a "Musical Trip to the Zoo" to introduce <br />important concepts in acoustics and how tones are made and made musical. <br />FY 2007-08 Funding Note: Funding is not recommended for the following <br />reason.' Commission challenges all grantees to fund raise to Programs <br />offset/leverage City grant funds. <br />FY 2008-09 Funding Note: Commission is pleased to recommend funding for this <br />valuable community based program. Due to the limited number of applications <br />that were received that most closely fit the funding guidelines, the Commission <br />was able to recommend increased funding for several applicants for the FY 2008- <br />09 grant cycle. Please note that this level of funding may not be sustained in <br />future years. All applicants are encouraged to seek other funding sources and <br />grant opportunities to expand funding resource. <br />
