ORGANIZATION TYPE Grant 2005-Ob Grant 2006-07 Grant 2007-08 REQUEST 2008-09 RECOMM. 2008-09 Pacific Chamber Symphony Program Statement: The Pacific Chamber Symphony "Music is Fun" program Cultural 500 $2 $2 500 $0 500 $3 $0 consists of a period-long (about 40 minutes each) school assembly supported by , , , a comprehensive educational package given to each teacher with both pre- and Arts post- assembly activities and educational materials. Most schools have two assemblies. The PCS quintet consists of violin, cello, trumpet, clarinet and flute. Each year a different fun theme is utilized to introduce musical concepts. Last year it was "Postcards From Around the World" to introduce different musical scales. This year it is a "Musical Trip to the Zoo" to introduce important concepts in acoustics and how tones are made and made musical.
