IN THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008-054 (2465) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND <br />THE ALAMEDA COUNTY CONGESTION MANAGEMENT AGENCY RELATING TO THE <br />INTERSTATE 880/MARINA BOULEVARD INTERCHANGE PROJECT <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the ALAMEDA COUNTY CONGESTION MANAGEMENT AGENCY and <br />the CITY OF SAN LEANDRO desire to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding relating to the <br />design and construction of the Interstate 880/Marina Boulevard Interchange Project. <br />WHEREAS, Interstate 880 (I-880) is a principal transportation corridor for the movement <br />of workers, goods, and services within Alameda County and in particular through the City of San <br />Leandro. <br />WHEREAS, the portion of I-880 through San Leandro is currently planned to be improved <br />with the addition of a southbound HOV lane from the northern San Leandro border to just south of <br />the Marina Boulevard-Marina Automall Interchange, which is being primarily financed by the <br />Corridor Mobility hnprovement Program of the State Infrastructure Bond Program, and a major <br />redevelopment project is planned that will directly impact the I-880/Marina Boulevard-Marina <br />Automall Interchange together warrant improvements to the Interchange to maintain traffic at <br />acceptable operation levels. <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro desires to coordinate improvements to the Interchange <br />with the southbound HOV lane project to reduce the disruption of traffic and the inconvenience to <br />the residents of both San Leandro and Alameda County. <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding and <br />recommends approval. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the City Manager is authorized to execute the Memorandum of Understanding <br />between the City of San Leandro and the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency <br />relating to the Interstate 880/Marina Boulevard Interchange Project. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Stephens and passed and adopted this 19`h day of May, 2008 <br />by the following called vote: <br />
