IN THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2008-054 (2465) RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND THE ALAMEDA COUNTY CONGESTION MANAGEMENT AGENCY RELATING TO THE INTERSTATE 880/MARINA BOULEVARD INTERCHANGE PROJECT Recitals WHEREAS, the ALAMEDA COUNTY CONGESTION MANAGEMENT AGENCY and the CITY OF SAN LEANDRO desire to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding relating to the design and construction of the Interstate 880/Marina Boulevard Interchange Project. WHEREAS, Interstate 880 (I-880) is a principal transportation corridor for the movement of workers, goods, and services within Alameda County and in particular through the City of San Leandro. WHEREAS, the portion of I-880 through San Leandro is currently planned to be improved with the addition of a southbound HOV lane from the northern San Leandro border to just south of the Marina Boulevard-Marina Automall Interchange, which is being primarily financed by the Corridor Mobility hnprovement Program of the State Infrastructure Bond Program, and a major redevelopment project is planned that will directly impact the I-880/Marina Boulevard-Marina Automall Interchange together warrant improvements to the Interchange to maintain traffic at acceptable operation levels. WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro desires to coordinate improvements to the Interchange with the southbound HOV lane project to reduce the disruption of traffic and the inconvenience to the residents of both San Leandro and Alameda County. WHEREAS, the City Manager has reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding and recommends approval. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That the City Manager is authorized to execute the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of San Leandro and the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency relating to the Interstate 880/Marina Boulevard Interchange Project.
