Consultant will carry forward the preferred 2003 concept design. Consultant will prepare design <br />development drawings and draft technical specifications that fix and describe the size and character of the <br />new parking structure and entry plaza on the west side facing East 14th Street as to architectural, structural, <br />mechanical and electrical systems, materials and other such elements, as may be appropriate. The scope of <br />work for the design development task will include the following: <br />Meet with City staff to review project objectives, preferences, constraints, provide input on <br />scopes of services for supporting information to be provided by City including topographic <br />surveys, geotechnical studies, hazardous materials studies, etc. as they relate to the <br />development of project. Discuss with staff the preferred concept design from the 2003 concept <br />design work. <br />Develop the preferred concept design based on input received from City staff. This will include <br />the following: <br />a. Development of architectural design concepts for the exterior facade and entry plaza on <br />the west side. <br />b. Development of the parking functional design, including: <br />Review site survey drawings as provide by the City; <br />ii. Development of parking and pedestrian design to comply with the requirements <br />of the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG); <br />iii. Setting of floor elevations and floor-to-floor heights; <br />iv. Stair/elevator/lobby layout; <br />v. Development of internal and external traffic circulation plans <br />vi. Meet with City staff to discuss its goals and objectives for parking facility access <br />and revenue control to establish the approach for the Parking Access and <br />Revenue Control System (PARCS) for all user groups; <br />vii. Prepare recommendations for PARCS in the form entrylexit lane plans at all <br />entrances to the parking facilities. The detail plans will show each entry or exit <br />lane configurations including gates, card readers and the like. Aone-line <br />diagram will be prepared to show the interconnection of access control <br />equipment; and <br />viii. Prepare a layout and message text for internal signs to effectively guide drivers <br />and pedestrians through the parking areas. <br />Development of the structural design, including. <br />a. Reviewing project geotechnical report as provided by the City; <br />b. Developing basic structural and foundation system; <br />c. Establishing column grid; <br />d. Establishing typelsize of lateral load carrying system; and <br />e.
