The creation of a Cafe Assistant classification. The duties of this position previously fell under <br />the Library Assistant, and will continue to perform a variety of cafe-related customer sei°vice, <br />operations and administrative tasks at the Main Library. It is recommended that the salary range <br />for the Cafe Assistant be set at $3,375-$~-,102 (range 51}. <br />The titles of Development Project Specialist, Planner I and Housing Specialist classifications be <br />changed to Project Specialist I; Planner II be changed to Project Specialist II; Senior <br />Development Project Specialist, Planner III be changed to Senior Project Specialist. The Project <br />Specialist series will perform a variety of detailed, specialized program work to more complex <br />professional research, technical and project management work involving planning, economic <br />development, affordable housing development, redevelopment or other designated areas. It is <br />recommended that the salary range for the Project Specialist I be set at $5,632-$6,845 (range 72), <br />Project Specialist II be set at $6,364-$7,736 (range 77), and the Senior Project Specialist be set at <br />$7,016-8,528 (range 81). <br />The Permits Center Coordinator classification, previously Office Coordinator, will perform <br />admministrative and supervisory responsibilities vital to the smooth operation of the plan check <br />and permits process in the building regulations division. The position will supervise subordinate <br />personnel and coordinate the application process at the public counter including the issuance of <br />permits, collection and recording fees. It is recommended that the salary range for the Permits <br />Center Coordinator remain at $6,061-$7,367 (range 75). <br />The Plant Electrician I and Plant Electrician II, previously Plant Electrician: Entry and Plant <br />Electrician: Journey, will continue to perform a variety of electrical and/or electronic work, in <br />connection with the maintenance, repair, and alteration of electronic systems and machinery and <br />equipment at the Water Pollution Control Plant, Sanitary Lift Stations, and the East Bay <br />Discharge Authority (EBDA) Dechlorination Facility. It is recommended that the salary range <br />for the Plant Electrician I remain at $4,749-$5,772 (range 65) and Plant Electrician II remain at <br />$5,363-$6,519 (range 70). <br />The Library Services Manager classification, previously City Librarian, will continue to develop, <br />implement, and coordinate the daily activities of professional Library divisions. It is <br />recommended that the salary range for the Library Services Manager remain at $8,588-$10,439 <br />(range 8). <br />The classifications of Plant Operator II and Plant Operator-Lead have had their salary schedules <br />increased to ensure the competitiveness of those positions under current market conditions. It is <br />recommended that the salary range for the Plant Operator II be set at $4,986-$6,061 (range 67) <br />and for the Plant Operator-Lead be set at $5,363-$6,519 (range 70). <br />The hourly rate of Police Recruit Trainee classification has been increased to better reflect <br />compensation currently provided to this position within Alameda County cities.
