Matter of Issuance of Tax Allocation Bonds by the Redevelopment Agency of the City <br />of San Leandro$35,000,000 Alameda County-City of San Leandro Redevelopment <br />Project Tax Allocation Bonds, Series 2008 (provides financing for capital projects in the <br />Alameda County-City of San Leandro Redevelopment Project Area). <br /> <br />Mr. Jermanis gave background on the matter. Mr. Carter gave information on the <br />financing options for the proposed bond issuance. Staff responded to questions from <br />the Council. <br />Public Comments on Item 10.A.: <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident <br />, addressed the City Council, commenting that <br />he planned to file a letter with Mayor Santos once the Council has voted on this item. <br />Mr. Filipovich commented on Proposition 98, the rising price of gasoline, and <br />documents that he authored. <br /> <br />End of Public Comments on Item 10.A. <br />Councilmember Souza asked whether the decision could be delayed until the next <br />meeting, when the Council would have more information. Mr. Carter indicated that the <br />information may need to be updated if considered at a later date, but if it is within a <br />short period of time, the market may not change significantly. <br />Vice Mayor Stephens stated that he is prepared to make a decision tonight. <br />Councilmember Souza asked when the Council would decide the priority of projects. <br />Mr. Jermanis stated that if the bond issuance is approved tonight, staff can report back at <br />a future meeting with the outcome of the chosen option, and the Council can then have a <br />discussion on the various projects. <br /> <br />th <br />Councilmember Prola commented that he feels the Senior Center and East 14 Street <br />improvements are a priority, while the garage is less important. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2008-063 <br /> , Resolution of the City Council of the City of San <br />Leandro Approving the Issuance by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San <br />Leandro of Not to Exceed $35,000,000 Aggregate Principal Amount of <br />Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Leandro Alameda County-City of San <br />Leandro Redevelopment Project Tax Allocation Bonds, Series 2008, and <br />Providing Other Matters Properly Relating Thereto (authorizes the <br />Redevelopment Agency to issue the bonds, as required by the Community <br />Redevelopment Law).
