MINiJTES Page 13 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-May 19, 2008 <br />Mayor Santos reported that he attended Personnel Committee and Board meetings of <br />the East Bay Dischargers Authority (EBDA), which is in the process of hiring a new <br />General Manager. Once the new GM is hired, a full review of the Authority will be <br />performed. Mayor Santos commented that Councilmember Prola will attend the June <br />19 EBDA meeting in his absence. <br />Mayor Santos reported that he and Councilmembers Grant, Souza and Prola attended <br />the Alameda County Mayors Conference on May 14 at Vila Cereja in San Leandro. He <br />commented that the meeting was a rousing success. <br />B. Reports on Conferences and Seminars <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he attended the monthly dinner sponsored by the <br />Local Government Commission. The topic was Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) <br />strategies and information. <br />C. Reports on Empowerment Funds <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he contributed $500 to the San Leandro Players. <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported that she contributed $250 to the 2008 San Leandro <br />High School Safe and Sober Graduation Committee. <br />Mayor Santos reported that he contributed $100 to San Leandro High School Football. <br />D. Reports on City Council Committees <br />Airport Committee Meeting of May 2, 2008. Accepted as submitted. <br />2. Business and Housing Development Committee Meeting of May 8, 2008. <br />Accepted as submitted. <br />Councilmember Prola commented on the Committee's discussion of the future <br />development of Marina Boulevard west of I-880, suggesting that the <br />undergrounding of utilities be considered as part of the development of Marina <br />Boulevard. <br />3. Rules and Communications Committee Meeting of May 1, 2008. Accepted as <br />submitted. <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Gregory complimented staff for a nice Cinco de Mayo celebration. He <br />attended the Casa Verde grand opening, Bike to Work Day, and the Heritage Faire at the <br />Library. Councilmember Gregory commented that he attended a Neighborhood Watch <br />
