April 17, 2008
To: The Board of Planning Adjustments and other concerned parties
From: Loretta Franke Woolston
82 Williams St., San Leandro
Please enter this letter and my previous letter (March 6, 2008) into the minutes of the meeting
tonight.
I am still opposed to project PLN2008-0003 as revised. The revisions to the project do not
rectify the damage that would be done to adjacent properties. The proposed project would still
block the air and light, as will as lower the property values of neighboring homes. The project is
detrimental to the neighborhood of mainly single family homes, The project totally violates the
San Leandro General Plan. The General Plan mandates the city to "Preserve the low-density
character of San Leandro's predominantly single family neighborhoods."
The revised plan must not be approved since it is inadequate and does not address the key
problem of destruction of the neighborhood character. The project is simply an attempt to tack
together an in-law unit, this size, which is also prohibited by the General Plan. It damages the
property values, light, air and privacy of neighbors; it is too high, too big and damages our
property values and rights.
Sincerely,
Loretta Franke Woolston
