MINUTES Page 12 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-June 16, 2008 <br />strong campaign. Councilmember Starosciak reported on a session she attended on <br />community entrepreneurship, and on the potential loan of property tax revenues by <br />cities to the State. <br />C. Reports on Empowerment Funds <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he made the following contributions from his <br />Community Empowerment Funds: to Bancroft Middle School for their after school <br />athletic program, to Stepping Stones, and to Washington Elementary School library <br />remodeling project. Councilmember Gregory stated that he has expended all of his <br />Community Empowerment Funds. <br />Councilmember Souza reported that she made a $100 contribution from her Community <br />Empowerment Funds to the Senior Services Foundation. Councilmember Souza stated <br />that she has expended all of her Community Empowerment Funds. <br />D. Reports on City Council Committees <br />1. Shoreline-Marina Committee Meeting of June 10, 2008. Accepted as submitted. <br />Recommendation for City Council Consideration: <br />a. Direct staff to begin negotiations with Cal-Coast for an Exclusive Right to <br />Negotiate Agreement. <br />Councilmember Starosciak commented favorably on Withee Malcolm <br />Architects, LLP, Cal-Coast's partner, which builds LEED-certified <br />buildings. <br />Councilmember Gregory asked if it would be possible for Councilmembers <br />to tour one of Cal-Coast's signature properties during the LOCC conference <br />in Long Beach. Mayor Santos suggested a tour of Cabrillo Marina in San <br />Pedro, and indicated that he has spoken with staff about this. <br />Councilmember Souza suggested that as the process for appointing a <br />Citizens Advisory Committee moves forward, all members of the Council <br />have input and be able to provide recommendations on the committee <br />appointments. Mr. Jermanis indicated that at its next meeting, the <br />Shoreline-Marina Committee will discuss the process for appointing the <br />CAC members, and make its recommendations to the Council. <br />Mayor Santos remarked that this would be a good opportunity to get new <br />people to participate. <br />
