~ • T EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF SERVICES PROJECT UNDERSTANDING Background The Public Safety Building was constructed in the late 1960's and contains all departments of the Police Department including, but not linuted to, records, investigation, traffic, evidence, administration, indoor gun firing range, and the detention facility (jail). Over the years, through: an increase in staffing; provisions for the role of females in today's work force; compliance with ADA requirements; accommodation of technical equipment, including server rooms; and a heightened awareness of security issues, the Public Safety Building appears to have reached its usable workspace limit. Scope The scope of this project is to provide a detailed space analysis study of the San Leandro Police Facility. The basic approach to the study is to first perform the needs assessment for the projected 3 year needs at occupancy in 2010 and 20 year needs in 2030.
