IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2008-008 (1198/2431) <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING <br />A NEW CHAPTER 3-20 RELATING TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES <br />The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: <br />SECTION 1. Title 3 of the San Leandro Municipal Code is hereby amended to add a new <br />Chapter 3-20 to read as follows: <br />"CHAPTER 3-20 EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES <br />ARTICLE 1. GENERAL <br />3-20-100 DEFINITIONS. <br />(a) "Basic Life Support Ambulance Service" or "BLS" means the service performed <br />in response to anon-emergency call. Specifically, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation <br />(CPR) procedures that, at a minimum, include recognizing respiratory and cardiac arrest and <br />starting the proper application of an automatic external defibrillator (AED) and CPR to maintain <br />life without invasive techniques until the victim maybe transported or until advanced life <br />support is available. <br />(b) "Critical Care Transport" or "CCT" means any emergency ornon-emergency <br />transport of a patient where the skill level required in the care of that patient during transport <br />requires, or may require, care within the CCT-Paramedic or CCT-RN scope of practice. <br />ARTICLE 2. COMPLIANCE BY SERVICE PROVIDERS <br />3-20-200 COMPLIANCE WITH COUNTY ORDINANCE CODE REQUIRED. <br />Every company based in the City of San Leandro which provides Basic Life Support <br />Ambulance Service or Critical Care Transport, and every company which provides Basic Life <br />Support Ambulance Service or Critical Care Transport within the City of San Leandro shall <br />comply with the provisions of Chapter 6.114 of Title 6 of the Ordinance Code of the County of <br />Alameda, as it is now and as it maybe amended in the future. <br />3-20-205 CITY LIABILITY. <br />Unless expressly agreed in writing, the City of San Leandro and its officers and <br />employees shall not be liable for any costs or charges associated with compliance with this <br />Chapter or the rules or regulations promulgated hereunder." <br />
