DRAFT MINUTES <br /> Page 18 <br />City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Hillside Geologic Hazard Abatement District, and San Leandro <br />July 21, 2008 <br />Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant also expressed appreciation . She <br />made suggestions for the makeup of the committee, including considering <br />members of all boards and commissions, not just Planning and BZA; using the <br />working group model used by the San Leandro School District; and making a <br />concerted effort to incorporate diversityrenters as well as homeowners, people <br />from all areas of town, various age groups, etc. <br />Councilmember Souza suggested having each Councilmember recommend a <br />representative from their Council district, if they wished to do so. <br /> <br />Recommendation for City Council Consideration: <br /> <br /> <br />Minute Order No. 2008-024 <br /> , Motion Approving the Shoreline <br /> Mission Statement, the <br />Proposed Selection Process and Timeline. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory commented that he and his wife helped run the hootenanny on <br />Friday, July 11, at Chabot Park, which was part of the Family Camp Night sponsored by the <br />Recreation and Human Services Department. Councilmember Gregory attended a showing of <br />, a documentary about the need for better nutrition in schools, along with <br />School Board Trustee Mike Katz. He attended a fundraiser for the San Leandro Swim Team, <br />at which he proposed a modernization of the High School pool. <br />Councilmember Souza commented that Councilmember Gregory did a wonderful job at the <br />hootenanny, quizzing the campers on San Leandro history, and tossing candy to those who <br />answered correctly. Councilmember Souza attended the Family Hawaiian Luauat the San <br />Leandro Family Aquatic Center, which was very well-attended with a good representation by <br />San Leandro families. She also attended San Leandro Ask the City <br />Manager Chamber luncheon. <br />rd <br />Vice Mayor Stephens congratulated Mayor Santos on his 53 wedding anniversary. <br />Councilmember Prola added his congratulations to Mayor Santos on his wedding anniversary. <br />Councilmember Prola commented that he attended the Hayward City Council swearing-in <br />ceremony, Ask the City Manager, and the one year anniversary of <br />the ValleyPower strike.
