To that end, we began the process of
exploring potential funding sources, and to date have been
successful in securing over $200,000 in capital funds as well as
invitations to submit proposals to private foundations once we
raise at least sixty percent of the total campaign.
We met with our County Supervisor with the invitation to bring
county services to San Leandro, using the Fremont Family
Resource Center as an example. This concept would have the
county out station some complimentary services at our FRC,
justifying the financial investment to Davis Street. Supervisor
Alice Lai-Bitker was supportive of our proposal and the vision to
ensure services in her district and directed the county to conduct
an independent "sustainability" assessment of the entire
organization. The study focused on the programmatic stability
and the financial viability looking back 5 years and forward 5
years. This process took nearly 7 months and the result was a
detailed blue print illustrating the severe burden our space cost
has on the organization. Please refer to your copy of the report.
The recommendation from this study is to relieve this burden
through the purchase of the FRC and is written in the
"Opportunities far Cost Reduction" section of the analysis on
page 11.
3081 Teagarden Street • San Leandro • GA • 94577•tel. 510.347.4620 •ftzx. 510.483.4486 •
www.davisstreet.org • DSFRCinfo@davisstreet.org
