MINUTES Page 10 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting~Tuly 28, 2008 <br />4. CITY COUNCIL COMIVIENTS <br />Councilmember Grant reported that she attended a workshop provided by the National Forum <br />for Black Public Administrators on Workforce Development. The presentation included a <br />case study from the East Bay Municipal Utility District, which highlighted the importance to <br />an agency of knowing the demographics of its workforce and the issues that are important to <br />them. <br />Councilmember Starosciak wished everyone a happy vacation. <br />Vice Mayor Stephens commented that Ms. Ramirez's complaint is the third complaint <br />regarding noisy vehicles that he has received this week. He noted that the occupant of the <br />vehicle may not even be aware of the volume of the noise that is emanating from the vehicle. <br />Councilmember Prola commented that it will be difficult to pass the 911 Tax and Police <br />Services Parcel Tax ballot measures, and that everyone will need to work to ensure their <br />passage. Councilmember Prola expressed the need for additional revenue and more police <br />officers. <br />Mayor Santos commented on Ms. Ramirez's concerns expressed during Public Comments. <br />He noted that the City's noise ordinance may address the problem. Mayor Santos announced <br />that tonight's meeting would be adjourned in memory of Glen J. Perry, a San Leandro <br />resident and former San Leandro police officer. <br />5.
