Mayor Santos welcomed the "new" Daily Review reporter, Karen Holzmeister, <br />who was in the audience. Mayor Santos thanked Mr. Jermanis, whom he has worked with <br />since before he was a councilmember. He likened Mr. Jermanis to his predecessors, Lee <br />Riordan and Wes McClure. Mayor Santos announced that tonight's meeting would be <br />adjourned in memory of 22 year-old Fairfield City Councilmember Matt Garcia; Jack Smith, <br />who was the first directly-elected mayor of Hayward; Cynthia Ainsworth, retired <br />Administrator of Vesper Memorial Hospital; the nine firefighters who died in a helicopter <br />crash in Trinity Alps; and Larry Silva, his brother-in-law and long time resident of Marina <br />Faire. <br />13.
