IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION N0.2008-112 (1081/1502) RESOLUTION COMMENDING JOHN J. JERMANIS AND DESIGNATING HIM CITY MANAGER EMERITUS WHEREAS, John J. Jermanis began his service with the City of San Leandro in 1971 as the City's Assistant Finance Director and became the Finance Director in 1982; and WHEREAS, on February 18, 1997, John J. Jermanis was appointed City Manager by the San Leandro City Council and carried out those duties with zeal, loyalty, skill, and diplomacy, bringing to fruition countless projects and civic improvements that have benefitted all who live, work and visit San Leandro; and WHEREAS, John J. Jermanis has fostered well-managed City programs, a caring and friendly work environment and a highly respected staff that provide efficient, quality services to the San Leandro community because of his leadership; and WHEREAS, John J. Jermanis has strengthened City relationships with local business leaders, school officials, nonprofit organizations, outside legislative officials, and regional entities, including the Alameda County City Managers Association, strengthening San Leandro's reputation and good standing as an active, forward-thinking community; and WHEREAS, throughout these many years of dedicated service to the City of San Leandro, Mr. Jermanis has lived in San Leandro with his wife, Linda, raised a family here, and become an active and involved member of the community; and WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro would like to honor John J. Jermanis in recognition of the sentiments of all who have worked with his as to his upstanding character, good-natured disposition and dedication to the improvement of the quality of life in San Leandro. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: In recognition of the foregoing, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does hereby commend John J. Jermanis for his years of dedicated professional service, and bestows upon him the title of City Manager Emeritus with all benefits such title carries and with respect and admiration from the City he has served so well.
