IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION N0.2008-121 (2850) <br />RESOLUTION ADDING MANIMOGRAPHY SCREENING OF ALAMEDA TO THE LIST OF <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT FUND RECIPIENTS <br />WHEREAS, City Council Community Empowerment Funds have been established to <br />provide financial assistance to local community groups, organizations and programs which might <br />benefit from a nominal financial contribution; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has approved a list of organizations and groups which are <br />able to receive discretionary funding from City Council Community Empowerment Funds, as <br />directed by the Mayor or City Councilmembers and approved by the City Manager; and <br />WHEREAS, Mammography Screening of Alameda, located in San Leandro, is anon-profit <br />organization promoting breast health to underserved women in Alameda County, providing <br />education awareness advocating the importance of early detection and yearly screening <br />mammograms; and <br />WHEREAS, Mammography Screening of Alameda meets the criteria for a group eligible <br />to receive a donation of Community Empowerment Funds as established in the City Council <br />Guidelines Regarding the Use of Community Empowerment Funds. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That Mammography Screening of Alameda is hereby added to the list of Community <br />Empowerment Fund Recipients. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Prola and passed and adopted this 6~' day of October, 2008, <br />by the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Grant, Gregory, Prola, Souza, Starosciak; Mayor Santos (6) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Stephens (1) <br />ATTEST: U V t ~Z/ I~G~/1/l <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
