CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />Mayor Santos led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Members Grant, Gregory, Prola, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Santos <br />ABSENT: None <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br />A. East Bay Regional Park District Briefmg on the District's November Bond Extension <br />Measure (Renewal of Measure AA). <br />East Bay Regional Park District Ward 4 Board Member Doug Siden gave a PowerPoint <br />presentation, providing information on Measure WW, the District's park bond <br />extension measure, which is on the November election ballot. <br />There was a consensus of the Council to consider a resolution in support of Measure <br />WW. <br />B. Proclamation Declaring the Week of September 21, 2008 as "Fall Prevention <br />Awareness Week" in San Leandro. <br />Alice Lavelle from Spectrum Community Services accepted the proclamation presented <br />by Mayor Santos. Ms. Lavelle described some of the services provided by Spectrum's <br />Fall Risk Reduction Program. <br />C. Resolution No. 2008-112, Resolution Commending John J. Jermanis and Designating <br />Him City Manager Emeritus (commends John Jermanis for his dedicated <br />service to the City of San Leandro and bestows upon him the title of City Manager <br />Emeritus).
