Hollister <br />Interim City Manager <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SAN LEANDRO EMPLOYEE'S ASSOCIATION <br />SALARY SCHEDULE TO ADD PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER III AND COMMUNITY <br />SERVICES SPECIALIST CLASSIFICATIONS. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution amending the salary schedule of the <br />employee group, to approve and establish salaries for new classifications. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff recommends the following classifications be created to provide needed lead and/or <br />supervisory support: <br />The Public Works Department is requesting the creation of a Park Maintenance Worker III <br />classification specification. The classification will provide lead direction to parks maintenance <br />personnel or crews as assigned or needed; perform skilled physical and mechanical maintenance <br />work in connection with irrigation/utilities and metal/wood fabrication, and perform related work <br />as required. This classification will perform similar duties to those performed by Facilities and <br />Street Maintenance Worker III classifications. The position will be filled internally and replaces <br />a Park Maintenance Worker II which was receiving a pay differential. It is recommended that <br />the salary range for the Park Maintenance Worker III be set at $4,633-5,632 (range 64). <br />The Police Department is requesting the creation of a Community Services Specialist <br />classification specification. .The classification will have program and/or project responsibility <br />and will supervise community service officers, clerical personnel, crossing guards and perform <br />related work as required. The position will be filled through a transfer of a current employee <br />from the Administrative Specialist -Police classification of the same salary range. It is <br />recommended that the salary range for Community Services Specialist be set at $5,363-6,519 <br />(range 70). <br />
