i
Conflict of Interest Code - 2 - December 15, 2008 ~ ~~
Since the City's last Code update in 2006, several classification changes and departmental
reorganizations necessitate an amendment to the Code. Appendix A is being revised to reflect
the changes to Regulation 18730, due to an increase in the gift limit to $420.
Based upon a review of the City's current Conflict of Interest Code and discussions with the City
Attorney's Office and City departments, the Designated Positions List (Appendix B) has been
revised. The revisions to the list reflect departmental reorganizations; classifications which were
created or eliminated since the last Code update; classification title changes resulting from the
Citywide classification specification review, adopted by the Council in June 2008; and the listing
of formal as well as functional job titles. New position classifications which were added or
reorganized since the last Code update are shown in bold and italics; position classifications
which have been eliminated are shown by ~. The positions of City Manager, City
Attorney, Finance Director, Mayor and City Councilmembers, and Planning Commissioners are
not listed in the City's Code, as these positions are already required by State law to file disclosure
of their economic interests.
The Disclosure Categories List (Appendix C) has been reformatted; however, the categories
themselves have not been changed.
Current City Council Policy
In order to comply with the requirements of the Political Reform Act, the City of San Leandro
must review its conflict of interest code biennially to determine if it is accurate or if amendments
are needed.
Previous City Council Action(s)
The City Council last amended the City's Conflict of Interest Code by Resolution 2006-128 on
December 4, 2006.
City Council Committee Review and Action - N/A
Applicable General Plan Policy - N/A
Permits and/or Variances Granted - N/A
Environmental Review - N/A
Code Comuliance Review - N/A
Board/Commission Findings - N/A
Summary Of Public Outreach Efforts - N/A
