property will be required from properties adjacent to the intersection, but the size and shape will
not be finalized until design is complete.
Analysis
This is a Priority Project that was included in the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency 2004-
2009 Implementation Plan and the 2007 Mid-term review. Acquisition of the properties needed
for this project will be partially reimbursed by ACTIA, as this project is one of the projects
approved for Measure B funding. Fortunately, the property owner is motivated to sell to the
City. The City will acquire the property with the tenant still on site. The tenant will pay the City
fair market rent (currently $4,065.63 per month) for the duration of its stay on the property, and
we will arrange for the tenant to relocate prior to construction.
This action will appropriate Redevelopment Agency funds for the acquisition of the property
needed for the project and relocation of the tenant at a later date.
Current City CounciURedevelopment Agency Policy
Not Applicable
Previous City CounciURedeyelopment Agency Action(s)
On September 2, 2008 by Resolution No. 2008-108, the Council authorized the City Manager to
execute real property agreements for the properties required for this project.
City Council and/or Redevelopment Agency Committee Review and Action
• Facility Committee was informed about the project on Apri126, 2006
Applicable General Plan Policy
Policy 18.02 -Capital Improvements: Identify capital improvements and other measures which
improve the safety of bicyclists, pedestrians, and motor vehicles on San Leandro streets.
Permits and/or Variances Granted
Not Applicable
Environmental Review
• This project is Categorically Exempt
Code Compliance Review
Not Applicable
Board/Commission Findings
On August 28, 2008, the Planning Commission found that the acquisition(s) of the property(s)
necessary for this project is in conformance with the General Plan.
